I have permanently extensioned my hair, heres how,,I had some yarn that matched my hair color,(black),,I cut the yarn into 3 inch strands, then pulled apart the fibers, and made a fluff, note :: the yarn i used was not wool,I think wool gives me the itchies,so I decided to use synthetic yarn,,it's better, cuz when you wash it,it dries alot quicker than wool, and is very light weight for your head, the water just quickly drips off the dread,,,anyhow,,i had alot of fluff,,i palm rolled long dreads, then,,I sewed the thing so it would stay together, causing the dread to look kinda bumpy,,i left some fluff on the end of the dread where I would attach it to my head,so,I then dreaded my own hair,,using the back comb method ,,and twist and rip,,(gently) then i sewed my own dread to a uniform roundness, that was the same width as the synthetic lock i made, then i overlapped the two un attached dreads, and i pletheraed them together using my fingers,,and holding this shape,,i very carefully started sewing them to gether, and there you go,,I cast of my thread, and had a perfectly long, natural looking dread, they look like they are well matured,i love the method i came up with, after lots of reaserch, and plenty of dreadlock picture veiwing,I want to extend this service,,so if any one is kickin around vermont, and wants this done to there, hair,,or if you need dread matenance,,or want just instantly locked natural dreads ,without synthetic's I am your girl

Re: Permanent Extensions
Tue, February 17, 2009 - 8:49 PMThat is impressive! I once cut off a good sized piece of my dread by mistake while trying to get a bead off. When I tried to weave it back in according to the directions I had seen on one of the tribes, it was futile. There was no way that thing was gonna stay on. Maybe I didn't do it well enough. Either way, I can't imagine taking the time to do all of them- I've got at least 80 dreads!
I wanna see pictures! Do you have before and afters? -

Wed, February 18, 2009 - 8:58 AMDid you want to keep the bead? Because, if you didn't, I've always figured taking a hammer to unwanted beads would be the best way to remove them, LOL. (Depending on what the bead is made of.)
