So my twin brother left his flat iron out and I used it on the roots and the tips of my dreads.. And you know as a temporary quick fix it worked amazingly well. My question is how bad is this for my hair? Is there a way to make these effects more permanent?
Also I shampoo with neutragina anti residue formula is this as good as the dread shampoo?
(I have trouble justifying spending thirty bucks on it)

Re: Has anyone tried this?
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 11:04 PMI use a straightener on mine when they get a little frizzy, like after I wash and wax them. I like it because it makes them nice and smooth!!

Re: Has anyone tried this?
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 4:17 AMI woman I know who has 4 year old uses Neutragina T-gel on hers, and there is nothing wrong with them. If that's the product you want to use, I see no problem with that. With any product, just make sure you wash out your hair really well.

Re: Has anyone tried this?
Fri, August 1, 2008 - 9:32 AMMy hair is naturally curly so everytime I wash my dreads, they want to curl up b/c they're still pretty new. I use a straightener on them whenever I want them to look really nice, it does a great job. I don't think it will hurt your dreads at all.

Fri, August 8, 2008 - 11:14 PMYeah, I've used a straightener as well with NICE results.. Smooths 'em down and makes 'em look good! ..Haven't suffered any ill-effects yet (from the heat).. that I can tell..

Re: Has anyone tried this?
Fri, February 20, 2009 - 5:50 AMI straighten mine all the time.
I know dreads are supposed to be a love/hate journey, but come on.. we all want em to look decent, and a flat iron works wonders.

Re: Has anyone tried this?
Fri, February 20, 2009 - 10:32 AMI use transparent nylon thread and sew those babies up tight ,nylon comes out of your dreads easy,if you ever want to take it out, but,it's great, and keeps your dreads looking neat and tidy.
