After the holidays i am going to dread my hair again. my last set i had 39 and it always kinda bugged me tat they were an odd number. anyways im curious as to how many ill end up with this time as the size will be a it smaller. so im wondering how many you all out there have and if the number had any special signigance to you, did you aim for it, etc ? would you change it if you could ?

Mon, November 24, 2008 - 10:08 PMI have forty nine but it seems like a new one pops up every month or two. The is my second set of locks. the first set was quit large with a mere 15. Neither number had any real significance. This time around I just wanted smaller dreads. The bigger ones were easier to take care off though. -

It sounds like a lot but they are a very medium size- I just have big sexy hair. Super thick- it was awesome when it wasn't dreaded but is even better now :) -

Tue, November 25, 2008 - 4:51 AMI have 53, I think. I used to have more, but I 'married' a couple thinner ones in the last year. No significance, but I have thick hair so that's what it took to get them all. Wouldn't change the number, I really like them the way they are.

Tue, November 25, 2008 - 6:46 AMNot sure, actually. 2 small ones fused together early on, but some stragglers ended up forming 2 new dreads at the base of my neck. I have some more loose hair that seems to be tangling on it's own, too. I think it's around 25-30...but I'm not sure. -

Wed, November 26, 2008 - 8:46 AMI have 49. I started with 52 but I joined three sets of really small ones at the base of my neck. 49 was the number I wanted to begin with! I was really disappointed when I ended up off by just 3. But, those ones needed to be joined and it worked out perfectly! :D Seven is my favorite number, you see. 7 x 7! :D It makes me stupidly happy. -

Mon, January 26, 2009 - 3:17 PMso i just finished my new set. i have this time and am amazed at how full they all feel. im also not doing any wax this time around and am going to wash with dreadhead shampoo at least for the initial locking up. i used to used to use bronners but it left the undreaded hiar framing my face feeling funny.
ahh...and the journey begins again =)
